Hi,

I think you should remove some less important blacklist trap sites which just use other blacklists entries and does charge huge amounts for removal of ips and keep in lists for 5 to 15 days with main intention to grab some money.

The list may include

INPS_DE
ivmSIP
MAILSPIKE-BL
UCEPROTECTL1

Rajesh,

I can't speak for the other blacklists. However, just to set the record straight, regarding ivmSIP...

(1) there is NEVER a charge to be removed from ivmSIP, nor for any of the other two blacklists distributed at invaluement.com

(2) the data for ivmSIP is NOT a copy of other blacklists' data. Instead, it is ALL compiled via processes that took years to develop and there is data on file to back up ALL listings. In fact, OFTEN, a spam-emitting IP will ONLY be blacklisted by ivmSIP and ivmSIP/24. In fact, our largest source of subscribers come from people who were annoyed that their spam filter didn't block particular series of spams... and then found that the invaluement lists were the only lists to block those messages. That would not be possible if the invaluement data was a copycat of other DNSBLs data.

(3) Finally, while the invaluement market share is TINY compared to SpamHaus or SURBL or Spamcop... it is still significant. For example, a top-5 U.S. ISP uses ivmSIP... as well as a Fortune 100 security/technology company. Therefore, MX Toolbox customers would suffer a HUGE loss to not be aware of a blacklisting with invaluement. (whether that be their own IPs, or IPs they were researching that they wanted to be blocked from their own network)

I hope this clarifies things.

Thank you for your Blacklist inquiry, we greatly appreciate your feedback. We do receive quite a number of complaints about certain Blacklists but keep in mind that we do not manage any of the Blacklists, we just provide a look up tool. We do not recommend blocking mail based solely on the data from any Blacklist as these lists should be used as a gauge to determine whether to consider a message as possible spam.

If you are having mail delivery problems due to any Blacklist, we would NOT recommend their fees for expedited removal. This payment does not determine if you are listed again or have other problems with Blacklists. If a Blacklist decides that they would like to charge money for expedited removal from a service that it runs with its own resources on its own time, then that is their choice.

If we were to remove any of the Blacklists, then those that are listed on a list may not have another resource to identify these problems.

Taking all of that into consideration we have no plans to remove any RBLs from our Blacklist service at this time as the results provide valuable information to those listed.

I wish you the best of luck in getting your problems resolved. As always I like to make sure that our visitors are aware that in addition to our free tools we also provide paid Products which can alleviate both your outbound delivery issues as well as provide inbound spam and virus protection and email continuity for emergency situations as well as hosted mail.

Thanks,
Wendy
