Hi,

haven't been here for a while, but I#m still relying on your Monitoring tool.

We had an intended Mail-Server outage on new years-eve, and have been notified by email, but we never recieved any email on the configured mobile-eMail-Address.

The test-email I just sent through your website however, was success regular and mobile-eMail.

Any ideas?

Cheerio, s.

ixto,

Sorry to hear there are issues with receiving alerts...can you let me know the domain or IP you are monitoring? If you are not comfortable with displaying that information publically, you can email me at wendy@mxtoolbox.com.

Thanks,
Wendy

ixto,

I had my Engineer check the settings and we show the last time an alert was sent on was 12/31, but this is the last time there was an incident. We wouldn't generate an alert if there wasn't an issue...so my Engineers are confident that everything is working as it should.

I just sent you a test email, can you confirm it was received?

Thanks,
Wendy

Hi Wendy,

yes i did get your test-mail. I also did get an email on 12/31.
The problem is, that I did not get the warning to my mobile email. Since this is a warning about a mailserver problem, the alert is useless, if i don't get it on my mobile email.

I will provoke a mailserver outage in the next days, to confirm, that mobile notification does NOT work in case of an emergency. Only the test works.

Cheers, s.

I checked your mobile alert email and it is an email address? This needs to be the carrier or SMS email address of the phone. For instance I have ATT and my SMS number is 4058022491@att.net.

Thanks,
Wendy

Hi Wendy,

mails recieved at this email-Address are forwarded to the email2sms-Gateway of our provider.

Since the test-email went through as expected, I don't think the email address is the problem.

Can you confirm, that your system did send an alert to the mobile email on dezember 31st?

Cheers, s.

We have confirmed that alerts are being sent normally and there are not any issues with your account.

Thanks,
Wendy

I AM SORRY!! *shame*
The mails got caught in the spamfilter of the SMS-Mailbox, and I didn't even think of checking.
(The test-mails did go through though)

Sorry for the fuzz.

Cheerio, s.
