People here are talking about editing their receive connector because our SMTP Diagnostics tool checks the banner presented by your receive connector and compares that to the domain returned in the PTR record for that IP address.
We cannot easily check the PTR for your send connector if it is a different IP because that would only happen during a message send, which we can't initiate a test for. I will look into putting this test into our MxPing tool which is run whenever you send an email to
ping@tools.mxtoolbox.com.
Regardless, we are working on some upgrades to the site and the tools, one of which will be to ignore any single part of the SMTP Diag that you like, so that you can keep a clear board even if you decide to mask your banner (which we still don't recommend as it doesn't provide any real security).
